Artist's Comments I just come back from one week is iceland with  ... such a dream... !Awesome landscapes, waterfalls, adventure with our rented 4x4 to cross fords (in French "gués")... Everything was wonderful, difficult to make choices to bring back best photos... Here is an crashed airplane in the black desert... 2h of walk to find it... More informations about this airplane : This accident happened the 24Nov73. The reason of this Dakota C-117D crash was it ran out of fuel after getting lost in foul weather; except after the crashlanding on the beach the crew found that they merely had switched from the wrong fueltank… The crash had been without serious injuries, but a helicopter involved in the recovery, has crashed ! This quickly ended the salvage attempts. Titles 'United States Navy' can still be read and the obvious bullet holes have nothing to do with the emergency landing! |
